The department of general medicine (also known as the inpatient ward of a health centre) is responsible for patients' emergency primary health care, functional capacity assessment, rehabilitation and post-specialist care. During a stay at the ward, the client's remaining functional capacity is supported and maintained through rehabilitative work.
