To whom and on what terms
Grants for the preparation of protection plans for groundwater areas are awarded only to municipalities, municipal federations, and non-profit associations. The grant is discretionary, and the amount of funding and the eligible activities are defined annually in the call for applications published in the autumn. The calls for applications are published on the websites of the Economic Development Centres. The grant is awarded on the basis of the Act on Discretionary Government Grants.
When awarding the grant, the Economic Development Centres take into account the river basin management plans and the measures presented in them, the risks to groundwater areas, and the importance of groundwater areas for community water supply.
In the application, fill in the sections concerning the applicant, contact person, project, measures, and their financing plan. Indicate in the application the project objectives, schedule, cost estimate, other funding, and as detailed a plan as possible for the implementation of the project. Describe in more detail the benefits of the project, particularly regarding water management, risk management of groundwater areas, and community water supply. Also specify in the measures any research needs and plans.
As an attachment to the application, provide information on de minimis aid granted during the past three years. In addition, the applicant must report any aid granted under the block exemption regulation.
