Do the following

Apply for a grant and for the payment of the approved grant primarily in the e-service. If it is not possible to use the e-service, you can also apply for the grant using a printable form. The next application period for the grant is in autumn 2026. The specific dates will be announced later.

In the e-service, the application can be submitted by an authorised person. Persons without separate authorisation can act on behalf of an organisation if they have an existing mandate for transactions or a right based on register data.

The mandate theme for e-service is Applying for subsidies for employment, environment, business and transport. Authorisation follows the instructions for Suomi.fi e-Authorizations.

Authorised persons act on behalf of their organisation through Suomi.fi e-Identification. The service verifies the person's right to use the service when logging in. In addition to authorisations, organisations need a Business ID to use the e-service.

To whom and on what terms

The grant can be applied for by legal entities, i.e. registered associations, organisations, other communities, businesses or municipalities. The grant is not available to government agencies or institutions, private individuals, or entities that in the grant’s award year receive a general grant from the Ministry of the Environment for associations or environmental management.

The project must be a nationally or regionally significant experimental or development project. A project can also be considered regionally significant if it is implemented in a single large municipality, such as a provincial centre, or across several smaller municipalities. The project must be of a fixed-term, project-based nature. The grant cannot be awarded for permanent or ongoing activities. Research or investment projects are not eligible for the grant.

The project results must be demonstrable and assessable. The project may produce, for example, a new operating model or educational and awareness-raising materials, or it may focus on facilitating the wider adoption of good practices and materials.

The project target groups may include children, young people, and adults. Grant calls often have a specific theme, which is announced at the latest at the start of the application period. The grant may be applied for even if the project does not relate to the current year’s thematic priorities.
