Protection of a land area as a nature reserve

The land owner can propose an area, either the whole property or a parcel thereof, for protection as part of the METSO Programme or to promote voluntary mire conservation. Alternatively, the establishment of a nature reserve can begin on the initiative of the Economic Development Centre for the implementation of a nature conservation programme or land use plan.

Fill in the application primarily elektonically. Log in to the service using your personal bank identification, mobile certificate, or certificate card.

If it is not possible to use the e-service, you can use a printable form. Submit the form to the Economic Development Centre by post, e-mail, or in person. The form can also be submitted as an attachment to the general service form.

The average processing time for applications is 6 to 12 months.
