Applying for a qualification certificate
Building designers and site managers apply for a qualification certificate from an authorized body by the Ministry of the Environment. Each authorized body has its own service for applying for a qualification certificate.
- First, find out which qualification certificate you need to apply for.
- See the authorized body that issue qualification certificates on the website of the Ministry of the Environment.
- Access the website of the authorized body you wish to use to apply for a qualification certificate.
- Follow the instructions of authorized body when preparing the application and submitting the requested documents.

Qualification requirements
Provisions on the qualification requirements are laid down in the Construction Act and in the The Government Decree on the Determination of the Difficulty Classes of Building Design Tasks and Construction Management Tasks and the Education Required in the Tasks (1063/2024).
Period of validity
According to the Act on the Verification of the Qualifications, a qualification certificate can be issued for a maximum of seven years.
