Animal transporters must register before transporting certain animals from Finland to another country or from another country to Finland if the activity does not require an animal transporter authorisation.

To whom and on what terms
A registration notification is required when transporting the following animals from Finland to another country or from another country to Finland:
- equines
- ungulates
- poultry
A registration notification is also required when transporting the following animals for commercial purposes:
- dogs
- cats
- ferrets.
Deadline
The registration notification must be submitted well in advance before animals are transported from Finland to another country or from another country to Finland.
Processing time
Processing typically takes at least two weeks.
Period of validity
The registration remains valid until further notice.
