Kupittaa Ball Game Hall

The main sports played in Kupittaa Ball Game Hall are futsal, basketball, handball, volleyball, floorball and gymnastics.
There are three full-size fields (approx. 22 m x 42 m), which can be separated by a curtain.
Games and events can be organised:
- on the main pitch (approximately 2700 seats)
- 2/3 of the pitch (approximately 1200-1700 seats)
- one field (approximately 100 seats)

Accessibility information
- The 2 accessible parking spaces are located outdoors over 10 meters from the entrance. The width of the parking spaces is less than 3.6 meters.
- The route to the entrance is rough and illuminated and it uses movement-guiding surface material.
- There is a steep slope on the passage.
- The passage has at least 4 steps, with handrails on both sides.
- The entrance stands out clearly and is illuminated. There is a canopy above the entrance.
- The doors connected to the entrance are hard to perceive and the glass doors have contrast markings. Outside the door there is sufficient room for moving e.g. with a wheelchair. The door opens automatically with an opening button.
- The entrance has thresholds over 2 cm high.
- The sports facilities are located on floor 0.
- For moving around, there is a lift, which can hold a wheelchair; the door opens automatically. The floor numbers in the lift can be felt with fingers. The button for the exit floor stands out from the other buttons. (The minimum dimensions for an accessible lift are width 1.1 m and depth 1.4 m.)
- The service point has directions to the different facilities and uses movement-guiding surface material.
- The facility has a toilet marked as accessible on the entrance floor. The requirements for accessibility are not met, as the door is not easy to open and close, the toilet does not have sufficient room for a wheelchair.
- The customer service/cashier's desk is located on the same floor as the entrance.
- The customer service/cashier's desk can be found easily. The desk is accessible to customers standing only.
- The dressing rooms are located on the same floor as the sports facilities.
- The facility has a separate accessible dressing room. The door is heavy or otherwise hard to open. The doorway has a high threshold.
- The separate accessible dressing room features a dressing bench and sufficient room for an assistant. Good illumination and clear contrasts facilitate spatial perception. There are no lockers in the dressing room. An accessible toilet is connected to the dressing room.
- An accessible shower room is available in connection to the separate accessible dressing room. The door opens easily manually. The doorway has a low threshold.
- The facility does not have a sauna.
- In the multipurpose sports facility, you can engage in sports such as aerobics, artistic gymnastics, badminton, basket ball, dancing, floorball, football, goalball, gym exercise, handball, martial arts, rhythmic gymnastics, volleyball, yoga.
- The sides of the sports facilities/fields feature room for moving aids. The sides of some fields have room for storing aids.
- The height of the passageways in the multi-purpose arena is appropriate. The wall sockets are not on a suitable height (0.4–1.1 meters). The multi-purpose arena has a fixed PA system and a wired and wireless microphone. The space has a portable induction loop. The alarm system (fire alarm) works with a sound signal. The personnel helps with the building of the courts, when present (e.g. temporary tape markings for parasports).

- Boccia: The passageway to the boccia space is in places less than a meter wide and it includes a heavy or unwieldy door and a high threshold. The floor of the sports area is area elastic and tape markings are allowed on it. Next to the playing area, there is room for storage of a regular wheelchair / powerchair, but also for several players with assistive devices. There is a resting place for guide dogs and assistance dogs near the playing field. The sports area can be divided into a smaller area using a dropping curtain.
- Sitting volleyball: The passageway to the sitting volleyball space is in places less than a meter wide and it includes a heavy or unwieldy door and a high threshold. Tape markings are allowed on floor of the sports area. The height of the net suits men (1150 mm) and women (1050 mm). There is 3 meters of space outside the field and room for storage of a regular wheelchair / powerchair, but also for several players with assistive devices. There is a resting place for guide dogs and assistance dogs near the playing field. The sports area can be divided into a smaller area using a dropping curtain.
- Goalball: The passageway to the goalball space is in places less than a meter wide and it includes a heavy or unwieldy door and a high threshold. The goals are 9 meters high and 1.3 meters wide. The floor of the sports area is area elastic and tape markings are allowed on it. The walls stand out from the floor through luminance contrast. The lighting is balanced and non-glare. In the area, there is disturbing sonority and background noise from other spaces. There is 3 meters of space outside the field. There is a resting place for guide dogs and assistance dogs near the playing field. The sports area can be divided into a smaller area using a dropping curtain.
- Wheelchair fencing: The passageway to the wheelchair fencing space is in places less than a meter wide and it includes a heavy or unwieldy door and a high threshold. Next to the fencing area, there is room for storage of a regular wheelchair / powerchair, but also for several players with assistive devices. There is a resting place for guide dogs and assistance dogs near the playing field. The sports area can be divided into a smaller area using a dropping curtain.
- Wheelchair basketball: The passageway to the wheelchair basketball space is in places less than a meter wide and it includes a heavy or unwieldy door and a high threshold. The walls of the basketball space stand out from the floor through luminance contrast. The height of the basketball hoop can be adjusted. There is 2 meters of space around the court and room for storage of a regular wheelchair / powerchair, but also for several players with assistive devices. There is a resting place for guide dogs and assistance dogs near the playing field. The sports area can be divided into a smaller area using a dropping curtain.
- Wheelchair rugby: The passageway to the wheelchair rugby space is in places less than a meter wide and it includes a heavy or unwieldy door and a high threshold. The area has a hard-coated area elastic floor with tape markings allowed on it. The walls of the space stand out from the floor through luminance contrast.The wheelchair rugby goals areas are 8 meters wide and 1.75 meters deep. There is 2 meters of space around the court as well as a 5-meter safety space at the ends, and room for storage of a regular wheelchair / powerchair, but also for several players with assistive devices. There is a resting place for guide dogs and assistance dogs near the playing field. The sports area can be divided into a smaller area using a dropping curtain.
- Wheelchair dance: The passageway to the wheelchair dance space is in places less than a meter wide and it includes a heavy or unwieldy door and a high threshold. Next to the dancing area, there is room for storage of a regular wheelchair with assistive devices. There is a resting place for guide dogs and assistance dogs near the playing field. The sports area can be divided into a smaller area using a dropping curtain.
- Showdown: The passageway to the showdown space is in places less than a meter wide and it includes a heavy or unwieldy door (good luminance contrast) and a high threshold. The walls of the space stand out from the floor through luminance contrast. The lighting is balanced and non-glare. In the area, there is disturbing sonority and background noise from other spaces. There is a resting place for guide dogs and assistance dogs near the playing field. The sports area can be divided into a smaller area using a dropping curtain. Note! Players must bring their own game table.
- Badminton: The passageway to the badminton space is in places less than a meter wide and it includes a heavy or unwieldy door and a high threshold. Next to the badminton court, there is room for storage of a regular wheelchair / powerchair, but also for several players with assistive devices. There is a resting place for guide dogs and assistance dogs near the playing field. The sports area can be divided into a smaller area using a dropping curtain.
- Electric wheelchair floorball: The passageway to the powerchair floorball space is in places less than a meter wide and it includes a heavy or unwieldy door and a high threshold. The area has a hard-coated area elastic floor with tape markings allowed on it. There are wall sockets but not on a suitable height (0.4-1.1 meters) in the dressing rooms and in the playing field. There is not 2.5 meters of space around the court nor room for storage of a regular wheelchair / powerchair. There is a resting place for guide dogs and assistance dogs near the playing field. The sports area can be divided into a smaller area using a dropping curtain.
