Turku has three Swedish language comprehensive schools. With basic education in Swedish a guardian can enrol their child to a school of their choosing

A student living in Turku has a right to a free school transport if the way to school is over five kilometers or dangerous.

When moving up to third or seventh grade, a student can enrol in a special or language-oriented class instead of a regular class.

In student guidance counselling you get support in planning your future and further studies. Counselling is given to every student in basic education.
