Vantaa Art School (Vantaan kuvataidekoulu) offers basic education in visual arts to children and young people aged 5–20.

The students progress from one level to another in accordance with the syllabus of basic education in visual arts.

All courses are subject to a charge. The school has five teaching locations in Vantaa. The teachers are professional art teachers and visual media experts.

Basic education in the arts is primarily intended for children and young people.

Background information

Basic education in the arts provides the students with capabilities for expressing themselves by artistic means. It is goal-oriented, progresses from one level to the next and is based on the nine principles of general and extensive syllabi defined for arts in the national core curriculum.

After basic education, students can choose to apply for vocational and third-level education in the field of arts.
