Datasets can now be described in Suomi.fi Restricted Data

The version of Suomi.fi Restricted Data released in June 2025 enables registration in the service. Public administration organizations can now register for the service and describe their restricted datasets there.
What is Suomi.fi Restricted Data?
Suomi.fi Restricted Data is a national single information point as defined in the EU Data Governance ActOpens in a new window. (DGA). The Restricted Data service contains metadata about the restricted data held in public authorities' data pools.

Who is the service intended for?
In line with the objectives of the Data Governance Act, the target audiences of the Restricted Data service are businesses, citizens and public authorities that need access to data held and produced by public authorities, as well as public sector organisations that are obliged to describe their own data resources on the service.
Who describes their datasets in the service?
Public administration organisations and other organisations that are obliged to describe their data resources according to the Data Governance Act can register for the service.
