Study: 95 per cent of Finns know Suomi.fi

Suomi.fi Web Service is better known than ever. According to a study in November 2025, 95% of Finns know Suomi.fi and nearly 75% have used Suomi.fi Services.  Suomi.fi Services have become significantly better known in recent years.

Five key findings 

• 95% of Finns know the Suomi.fi Web Service (2019: 67%). 
• 74% have used the Services; for young people (aged 18–24) the figure is as high as 73%. 
• Suomi.fi Messages is the most widely used service, with a user base of 90% of Suomi.fi users.  
• Satisfaction is high: 77% of users report being satisfied with the Suomi.fi register and 75% with Suomi.fi e-Authorizations. 
• Perceived benefits: The key benefits of Suomi.fi Services include ease of use, speed, security and the one-stop availability of official services. 

How the study was conducted  

The objective of was to study how well the Services are known and used, and their perceived benefits. The study was conducted by Tutkimustoimisto Vastakaiku on behalf of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.

The data was collected via the M3 online panel by Bilendi Oy. There were 1,000 respondents, and the sample is weighted to represent adult Finns by gender, age and area of residence. The margin of error is ±3.2% (95% confidence level). The study is conducted every two years.
