Suomi.fi Data Exchange Layer latest software version 7.6.2 to be taken into use

The Central Server Environment for the Suomi.fi Data Exchange Layer will be updated to the new 7.6.2 version. The update of the Central Server Environment will not impact the operations of individual security servers already connected to the Data Exchange Layer. However, the connection of new security servers or organisations to the Data Exchange Layer will not be possible during the update process.

The planned times for the updates are as follows:

• Development environment (FI-DEV) week 41, Wednesday 8.10.2025
• Testing environment (FI-TEST) week 44, Wednesday 29.10.2025
• Production environment (FI) week 48, Wednesday 26.11.2025

After the update of the Central Server  Production Environment, the maintenance service will send more detailed instructions regarding the update to the technical contact persons for the security servers. Following the update of the Central Server Environment, it is recommended that the security servers update to the new version within four weeks.

Note! You can only update to the version 7.6.2 from the software version 7.4.x or 7.5.x.

The Suomi.fi Data Exchange Layer is preparing for the introduction of the Automatic Certificate Management Environment (ACME)

With ACME, the current Authentication (auth) and Signature Certificates (sign) for Security Servers can be automatically renewed directly through the Security Server user interface. 

Schedule:

• The ACME feature will be tested and piloted in the coming autumn and the end of 2025.
• Security Servers must be upgraded to version 7.5.1 or later by the end of 2025.
• ACME certificates will be introduced in all Suomi.fi Data Exchange Layer environments in early 2026.
• The validity period of Authentication Certificates for Security Servers in the Suomi.fi Data Exchange Layer will be reduced to six months in March 2026.

We will provide more detailed information about the ACME deployment schedule towards the end of 2025.
