Suomi.fi Data Exchange Layer version 6.25.0 has been published

Release noteSuomi.fi Data Exchange Layer

Published 18/1/2021

The Central Server Environments FI-DEV and FI-TEST of the Data Exchange Layer have been updated to the new version in January 2021. The Central Server Environment for production will be updated in February 2021.

Planned update schedule (changes can occur):

  • Development Environment (FI-DEV) Wed 13 January 2021, 8.00am – 12.00 noon
  • Test Environment (FI-TEST) Wed 20 January 2021, 8.00am – 12.00 noon
  • Production Environment (FI) Wed 3 February 2021, 8.00am – 12.00 noon

Please note that during the update to the new software version of the Central Server Environment, no new security servers or organisations can be added to the Data Exchange Layer. However, the update will not affect the operations of any individual security servers that have already been connected. The precise times of each update will be reported via the environment-specific distribution lists before the update is to take place.

The Data Exchange Layer’s Maintenance Service will provide detailed update instructions to the technical contact persons of each security server once the Central Server Environments have been updated. Come and hear about new features on 4 February at 8:30 am. Following the update of the Central Server Environments, we recommend updating all security servers to the new version within four weeks. The update includes new features for security servers as well as improvements to the functionality and security of the Data Exchange Layer, so you should update to this version as soon as possible.

Come and hear about new features on 4 February at 8:30 am

On Thursday, 4 February 2021, between 8:30 and 9 am, we will host an event on Microsoft Teams where the developers of X-Road will share more information about the new version and its features. Viewers will be provided with the opportunity to ask the developers directly about any matters related to the new version. We hope that as many of you as possible will join us in hearing more about what version 6.25.0 has to offer.

Installation and update instructions

The new security server software version will be made available for different Data Exchange Layer environments (FI-DEV, FI-TEST, and FI) once the Data Exchange Layer’s Maintenance Service has updated each Central Server Environment to the new version. Once a Central Server Environment has been updated, the Maintenance Service will provide the download link to the security server software version for that specific environment. After the Central Server Environments have been updated, the Maintenance Service will also provide more detailed update instructions by email to the technical contact persons for each security server.

Please note that the version 6.25 update is available only for X-Road versions 6.23 and 6.24.1. This means that you will need to update to either version 6.23 or 6.24.1 before installing the latest version.

Version 6.25.0 supports both RHEL 7 and RHEL 8.
