The search API of Suomi.fi Finnish Service Catalogue API version 12 in production environment as a beta version, API key also to be enabled
Published 31/3/2026
The search API of the new API version 12 of the Suomi.fi Finnish Service Catalogue, i.e., the OUT API, has been published as a beta version in the production environment. Data in the production environment can be retrieved from the API.

Instructions on using API version 12 is available on the Suomi.fi for Service Developers website at API and architecture reform and its subpages.
Please note that the newly published API is a beta version that will be modified several times.
A change log is kept at V12-hakurajapinnan muutosloki (in Finnish).
In interface queries, you may encounter the error 503 Service unavailable. This is caused by temporary load spikes that have not yet been fully optimised in the new interfaces. We kindly ask you to send us feedback at ptv-tuki@dvv.fi if you experience this error, so we can further optimise the application's performance.
The final version will be published in the production environment at the end of 2026, when the Digital and Population Data Services Agency has ensured that enough organisations have tested the new API version and that no more significant development needs will arise. The date of publication of the final production version will be announced in the autumn.
Testing the version 12 IN API is not possible; the IN API methods will only be released in the client test environment in the autumn. In the future, the IN API will be called the import API.
API key to be enabled
Using production environment in version 12 requires using an API key.

You can find instructions for ordering an API key at API-avaimen käyttöohje (PTV rajapintaversio 12) (in Finnish).
The API key management interface is now being released in a slightly simplified version, and it will still evolve during April–May. For now, an organisation can essentially request an API key for only one integration. For example, a wellbeing services county that has several PTV integrations should initially test the beta version of interface 12 with only one of the integrations.
Later in the spring, it will become possible to request keys for different integrations. We will provide further information and instructions at that time.
The API key will also be enabled in the customer test environment in April, i.e., later than in the production environment.
We appreciate feedback
The search APIs are now released as a beta version. We appreciate any feedback and comments on the test results, documentation and instructions.
Please submit your comments on the instructions and the new search API to ptv-tuki@dvv.fi.
