Update the Suomi.fi Data Exchange Layer – the new version 7.0.2 has been installed in the production environment on 16 March 2022

The latest version of the Data Exchange Layer will bring a new user interface and improvements to logging and data security. Version 7.0.2 fixes vulnerabilities and bugs in previously released versions 7.0.0 and 7.0.1.

Major changes compared to the previous version 6:

• The Security Server administrative view has been reworked.
• Security has been improved with backup encryption and integrity checking.
• Logging has been improved by encrypting the contents of log archives and messages in the database and by grouping archived logs by organisation (Member) or subsystem.
• For version upgrades, version compatibility is checked so that you cannot upgrade to the new version while using a version that is no longer supported.

Fixes have been made to the 7.0.0 version of the Data Exchange Layer installed in development and testing environments in January and February 2022

• Patch 7.0.1 fixes vulnerabilities detected in program libraries (Logback and Log4J).
• Patch 7.0.2 fixes the following bugs in versions 7.0.0 and 7.0.1 of the Security Server:

1. Message logging in the messagelog database has been completely deactivated after the version update on RHEL7/8 platforms. As a result, the Diagnostics page displays a Time Stamping Authority error even though the connection to the Time Stamping Authority works correctly.
2. Restoring backups will fail if the Security Server has been installed before version 6.24 and then updated to the latest version. Please note! Regardless of the version of the original installation of the Security Server, version 7 of the Security Server can only restore backups made in version 7.
3. Changing the default parameters for the new archive component in the message log via the local.properties file does not work. Before this is fixed, you can change the parameters in the messalog-archiver.conf file. Please note! Changes made to the messalog-archiver.conf file will be overwritten in connection with the version update, which means that any changes should be made to the local.properties file too.

The new software version and all installation packages have been developed by the Nordic Institute for Interoperability Solutions (NIIS).
