Applying for a revocation of the right to officiate weddings

A registered religious community or an officiator can apply for a revocation of a granted right to officiate weddings from the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.

Do the following

Submit a free-form application to have the authorisation to perform marriages revoked via secure email to vihkiminen@dvv.fi.

You may also submit your application by post to the Oulu service location of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.

If the applicant is a religious community, a consent of the officiator to the revocation of the right to officiate weddings or other account on the cancellation of the right to officiate weddings is needed as an attachment.
