Checking your personal data

In the service, you can check your personal data stored in the Population Information System.

You can also:

  • Give your preferred name, profession, native language, language of service and email address
  • Add or remove your prohibitions on disclosure of information
  • Remove your non-disclosure for personal safety reasons

Checking personal data from the Population Information System as online service

You can check your information on the Personal Data page of the Suomi.fi online service. Identify yourself on the Suomi.fi Personal Data page. In the service, you can also report any missing data or update information that has changed.

To log in to the service, you need online banking IDs, a mobile certificate or an identity card. If you use your identity card, you need a card reader on your computer.

Inspection request on form

If you cannot use the online service, you can send a request for data inspection to the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. Download the “Request – exercising the right of access” form.

You can bring the form to one of our service locations or sign it and send by mail.

Information on all service channels is not available in your chosen language. Change the language of the site to receive information on service channels in other languages.

To whom and on what terms

You can only check your data if you have been registered in the Finnish Population Information System and you have a Finnish personal identity code.
