Ordering a vehicle registration certificate

Order a new registration certificate for your car, motorcycle or other vehicle in Traficom’s My e-Services.

You need the technical part only abroad or in Åland. The notification part is needed less often.

As the owner of the vehicle, you may order either the entire certificate (Part I and Part II) or only the technical part (Part I).

Order a new registration certificate in Traficom’s My e-Services. The certificate will be mailed to you in around one week.

If you are unable to order the registration certificate electronically or you need it immediately, you can visit an inspection station that offers registration services.

To whom and on what terms

Conditions for ordering a vehicle registration certificate

  • You are you the owner or holder of the vehicle and at least 15 years of age.
  • The service requires identification.
  • The owner or holder of the vehicle has a Finnish personal identity code or a valid business ID.

The registration service cannot be used in the following situations:

  • The registration number is missing: The vehicle does not have a valid registration number.
  • The right to change registration details has been restricted: The vehicle is subject to a registration alteration prohibition issued by an authority, or it contains registration pendency data.
  • The vehicle has been marked as deregistered, finally deregistered, decommissioned for registration in the military vehicle register or decommissioned for registration abroad or on the Åland Islands.
  • The vehicle has been stolen: The police have marked the vehicle as stolen.
  • The person to whom the registration certificate is posted has a non-disclosure for safety reasons. In this case, you must order the registration certificate from an inspection site providing vehicle registration services.
