Handbook for assessing the security of technology industry products

This handbook supports organisations in the initial assessment of the security of turnkey technology products, such as software, services and hardware. The handbook is support material is free to use and apply.

The handbook explains the assessment of technology products from the perspective of several different subareas. The handbook illustrates

1. what features or considerations indicate a good level of information security and are recommended; and
2. what features or issues increase security risks and should therefore be avoided.

The handbook was prepared as part of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency’s Development Programme for Digital Security in Public Administration (JUDO), and was published in October 2023.
