The document, Considerations for built-in and by-default data protection in procurement serves as support material for taking data protection into account in procurement.

The material covers the following six principles of data protection:

1. Transparency
2. Exclusivity of purpose
3. Data minimisation
4. Accuracy
5. Storage limitation
6. Integrity and confidentiality

The material is free to use and apply, but it should not be used as such. Instead, organisations must adapt it to their operations.

Specialists from the VAHTI working group on the development of data protection were responsible for producing this support material, and it was published in November 2021.
