Ensure a Smooth Deployment of the Suomi.fi Data Exchange Layer – Use the Process Diagram as a Guide

The deployment of the Data Exchange Layer consists of administrative and technical phases, which may progress partly in parallel. It is important to follow the recommended order to ensure a smooth deployment process.

After administrative planning and selecting the security server solution, the deployment continues with the Data Exchange Layer access permit application:

• a new organisation begins the process of joining the Data Exchange Layer
• an organisation already connected to the Data Exchange Layer notifies the introduction of a new security server

In the technical deployment, it is important to proceed step by step and carry out the following:

• installation of the security server
• addition of a subsystem
• connection of the client system in the order specified in the instructions

If the organisation is already connected to the Data Exchange Layer and an existing security server can be used for the deployment of a new service,

• the deployment can proceed directly to adding the subsystem to the security server.

Also remember to check the service provider’s own instructions and apply for a use permit for the subsystem if needed.
