Deployment
The Suomi.fi Payments service is quick and simple to deploy. The deployment of the service requires that the public administration organisation has an e-service or e-commerce solution.
The Suomi.fi Payments service is provided by the State Treasury. If you are interested in deploying the Suomi.fi Payments service, do the following:
Read through the documentation related to the Suomi.fi Payments service carefully. Assess the extent to which you could make use of e-services and online payments.
Contact the State Treasury and schedule a meeting timeOpens in a new window.. The purpose of the deployment planning Teams meeting is to review the Suomi.fi Payments service and its features according to the public administration organisation’s needs, and to examine the rights and obligations for using the service. The meeting will also focus on the service’s deployment process and the related agreements. A representative of the service’s vendor, Paytrail, will also be present to talk about the service’s Merchant Panel reporting portal and to answer any technical questions. The 90-minute review includes everything you need for deploying the service, and no other training is required.
Familiarise yourself with the Paytrail Payment APIOpens in a new window., which is required for the integration. Perform the integration between your e-service and Paytrail or hire a partner to do it for you. After the integration, you can test the functionality of the payment transaction process.
You will need test credentials to test the payment systemOpens in a new window.. If you need support in implementing the technical integration, contact one of the following:
After the contractual documents have been signed, the main user of the organisation’s Merchant Panel will receive the necessary deployment information from Paytrail.
Follow the State Treasure’s initial deployment instructions in the Merchant Panel. Store your Merchant ID and Secret key in your e-service or e-commerce solution. Your Secret key is available in the Merchant PanelOpens in a new window..
Test the performance of the entire payment process from the end-user’s (payers) payment transaction to your accounting. You can use your test credentials for your initial tests, but the testing of the entire payment process must be done in production with actual money.
The organisation must inform its end-users (the payers) of the payment service provider (payment intermediary) used in the service. This can be done, for example, in the e-service itself, or in the e-commerce solution’s payment or delivery termsOpens in a new window..
The organisation can use its own terms or include a link to Paytrail’s terms.
Once all the deployment steps have been completed, you can begin using the service.
