Secure online payments

Suomi.fi Payments is a uniform online payment service intended for public administration. It enables secure online payments to public administration organisations in their own digital e-services. The Suomi.fi Payments service is always part of another digital service or other such e-service, such as the public administration organisations’ e-commerce solution, which involves payments made by end-users. The Suomi.fi Payments service includes the necessary payment management, account settlement, and reporting services.

The vendor of the Suomi.fi Payments service forwards the payment transactions made by end-users to the customer organisation’s e-service. The payment transaction can be implemented using the payment methods supported or provided by the vendor in its payment service, which the customer organisation has agreed to implement in its e-service through the vendor’s service.

The purpose of the centralised Suomi.fi Payments service is to simplify, harmonise, and facilitate the transactions made by public administration customers – citizens, companies, and communities – with public administration organisations.
