Technical overview

Suomi.fi Payments are linked to the public administration organisation’s e-service or e-commerce solution. The service allows end-users to make payments to authorities in their digital e-services. The Suomi.fi Payments service includes the necessary payment management, account settlement, and reporting services.

The payment intermediary of the Suomi.fi Payments service is Paytrail Oyj, which forwards payments according to end-user payment transactions to the public administration organisation’s e-service. The payment transaction can be implemented using the vendor’s payment methods that the public administration organisation has agreed to implement in its e-service.

API

The deployment of the Suomi.fi Payments service requires that the public administration organisation’s e-commerce vendor integrates the Paytrail Payment API to the e-commerce solution.
