Rules engine descriptions

The Rules Engine is a feature and user interface contained in the Suomi.fi e-Authorizations service that allows you to specify rules that restrict acting on behalf of your e-service and to determine the right to act on behalf of another person.

With regards to rules in the rules engine, keep in mind at least the following:

• Determine the roles that can be used to act on behalf of another party in your service. E.g. guardian, managing director, chairperson of the association.
• Determine the mandates that can be used to act on behalf of another party in your service. You can find the mandate themes currently in production use in the list of mandate themesOpens in a new window..
• Factors that must prevent acting on behalf of another party. For example, non-disclosure for personal safety reasons, having been taken into custody, business prohibition.

A mandate to act on behalf of a company is usually granted at least to the Managing Director and to the authorised signatory directly on the basis of their role in the Trade Register.

When acting on behalf of a child, guardians usually have the full right to act on the basis of their role as a guardian, which is checked from the Population Information System.
