Rules engine descriptions

The Rules Engine is a feature and user interface contained in the Suomi.fi e-Authorizations service that allows you to specify rules that restrict acting on behalf of your e-service and to determine the right to act on behalf of another person.

With regards to rules in the rules engine, keep in mind at least the following:

A mandate to act on behalf of a company is usually granted at least to the Managing Director and to the authorised signatory directly on the basis of their role in the Trade Register.

When acting on behalf of a child, guardians usually have the full right to act on the basis of their role as a guardian, which is checked from the Population Information System.

You only need to use a mandate if role-based usage of the service is not possible for some reason. For example, acting on behalf of an adult or acting on behalf of a government agency requires a mandate granted in the authorisation registerOpens in a new window..

The right to act on behalf of another party may be significantly affected by, for example, the following factors:

Acting on behalf of a child

Acting on behalf of an adult

Acting on behalf of a company

  • Non-disclosure for personal safety reasons
  • Age
  • Taking into custody
  • Joint custody agreement
  • Mandate themes
  • Guardianship
  • Company status
  • Official role
  • Ban on business operations

These are some of the many things you can influence with rules engine settings.
