Instructions for the Data Vocabularies tool

You can select the desired language for the interface from the drop-down menu of the tool. Please note that this selection does not change the language in which the datamodels and their contents are presented. 

You can search for datamodels or their contents by entering a search word in the search field. Then press Enter or click the magnifier icon in the search field. 

You can filter the search for datamodels in the sidebars in the following ways: 

• You can perform a word search in datamodels and classes, attributes and associations in the same way as the search in the top bar (cf. section Search and user interface language). 
• If you want to see only the datamodels created by a specific organisation, select the organisation concerned from the drop-down menu. 
• If you want to see the datamodels in a specific language first, select your preferred language. 
• If you want to see only datamodels of a specific type, select either core vocabularies or application profiles. 
• You can also select the statuses that the datamodels must have in order to be shown on the list. 
• In addition, you can select which domains the datamodels must belong to in order to be shown on the list. 

The filters used are presented above the list of the datamodels as pills. If you wish, you can remove the search filter by clicking the filter (pill). 

A technical description (so-called serialised form) can be generated from a datamodel created with the Data Vocabularies tool. In practice, the content is presented in a machine-readable form in which metadata is linked to the content in accordance with a specific technical specification. 
 
You can view a datamodel in a specific display format or download it on your device in the following way: 

1. First go to the Details tab of the desired datamodel. 
2. Click the Actions menu on the top. 
3. Then select whether you want to have the information displayed on a web page or as a file.

Options: 

• Show as file: The Data Vocabularies tool opens a new window. Select the desired file format and click Show button to see the technical description of the datamodel in your preferred form on a new tab. 
• Download as file: The Data Vocabularies tool creates a file in the selected format containing the description of the data model and saves it to your workstation. 

The tool currently supports the following formats for core data models: 

• JSON-LD 
• RDF 
• Turtle 

Application profiles support more formats, meaning that in addition to the previous ones, they also include OpenAPI and JSON Schema.
