What is the Interoperability Platform?

The Interoperability Platform maintained by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency provides tools for defining interoperable information content. The platform consists of the terminologies, codelists and datamodels needed for data flows and in other areas of information management.

The Reference Data toolOpens in a new window. is a technical platform for the use and maintenance of common codelists and classifications in public administration.

The Terminologies toolOpens in a new window. is used to collect and maintain common terminological glossaries and concepts in public administration.

The Data Vocabularies toolOpens in a new window. is used to describe the contents and data structure of information systems and interfaces.

The Interoperability Platform is intended for both public administration and the private sector. The platform tools are available free of charge for terminology work, the management of codelists and data modelling. Data content producers are responsible for their own data specifications and their quality, and for keeping them up to date.

You can also use the data specifications that already exist on the Interoperability Platform. Using existing codelists and datamodels in your system development is cost-effective and improves interoperability between the systems of different actors. The consistent use of concepts makes services easier to design and understand.
