How are Suomi.fi guides produced?

The Suomi.fi editorial team is responsible for the following:

• Putting together the network and coordinating its activities
• Designing, producing and publishing the structure and contents of the guide
• Translations of the contents into Swedish and English
• Collecting feedback from Suomi.fi users
• Ensuring that the guide is up to date after publication
• Bringing the needs to develop the guide to the content network for discussion

The task of the members of the content network is to represent their own organisation and act as contact persons in the following matters:

• Taking advantage of the organisation’s expertise and customer insight to support the production of the guide
• Workshops and meetings in the guide project
• Commenting on, supplementing and approving plans and guide contents
• Participation in updating and developing the content of the guide after the guide has been published
• Communication about the guide in the organisation’s own channels

Membership in the network is voluntary. Each member can participate in the work at different stages to the extent that they consider necessary. This is because the members of the network are not remunerated, but the employer is responsible for the reimbursement of the working hours. The working language is Finnish.

The contents of the Suomi.fi Web Service can be used in accordance with the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence.

In most cases, the guide project is led by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. In this case, content cooperation follows the content cooperation model from the beginning to the end.

The guide project can also be implemented entirely under the leadership of another actor or with external guidance.

In such cooperation projects, the responsibilities and roles are agreed upon separately:

• The Suomi.fi editorial team always has a key role in designing the structure and the contents.
• The Suomi.fi editorial team is always technically responsible for publishing the contents.
• Other responsibilities and roles are agreed on separately for each project.

The main purpose of the guides is to direct the customer to use services in the right place and in the right way. The data on the services and service channels are mainly imported from the Suomi.fi Finnish Service Catalogue.

For this reason, one of the key elements of the guide project is the mapping and quality checking of services related to the life event or business event in question. During the guide project, the aim is both to promote the description of missing services and improve the quality of the published descriptions.
