Publication of a datamodel

Normally, all edits are made to the datamodel in Draft status, i.e. to a working version that is only visible to editors in the same organisation. A datamodel that is visible to everyone must be published separately.

Instructions:

Go to the Details tab and select Create release of data model from the Actions drop-down menu. Please note that during the publication phase of the application profile, there is a validation check that shows the modeler any deficiencies, such as associations without references to the core data model. If you see this window, refer to the instructions below.
The tool will show you a window with the options for publishing.
Select the desired status and then give a version number to the datamodel. For more information about versioning a datamodel, see  Versioning a datamodel.
Click the Publish button or Cancel if you don't want to continue publishing.

The tool will check the references of the application profile when you publish the datamodel. The application profile check shows the modeller which references are still missing a target, i.e., a reference to a core vocabulary.

If references are missing from the application profile, you have two options:

You cancel the publication and add the missing references. This is the recommended option, as the application profile should ideally make use of core data models..
You publish the datamodel without references. As it is not always possible to use core vocabularies, the tool does not technically prevent publication even if references are missing.
