The performance of the security server connected to the Suomi.fi Data Exchange Layer can be improved by modifying the memory settings of the software and making the database more efficient.

Starting from Suomi.fi Data Exchange Layer version 6.7.2, the logging of message payload has been turned off by default and only message header data is logged. You can turn payload logging on by changing configurations.

A load balancer can help the organisation to improve the performance and reliability of its security server connected to the Suomi.fi Data Exchange Layer, especially when large and sudden traffic spikes occur. For example, a security server can be cloned into one or more security servers, which distributes the load to several security servers. However, a load balancer is not a standard component of the Data Exchange Layer, so purchasing, configuring and maintaining it is the organisation's own responsibility.
