Instructions for intermediaries

Organisations can outsource the deployment of the Data Exchange Layer or an individual service to an intermediary. On this page, you can find instructions for organisations that act as intermediaries in the Data Exchange Layer on behalf of another organisation and provide a comprehensive solution for connecting to the Data Exchange Layer through a shared subsystem.

Deployment of the Data Exchange Layer as an intermediary

This section describes the following steps:

  1. Connect your organisation to the Data Exchange Layer.
  2. Connect your customer organisation to the Data Exchange Layer.
  3. Apply for a licence for an individual service on behalf of your customer organisation.
  4. Deploy a single service on behalf of your customer organisation

1. Connect your organisation to the Data Exchange Layer

In order for your organisation to act as an intermediary in the Data Exchange Layer, you must first connect your organisation to the Data Exchange Layer. Instructions for joining the Data Exchange Layer are divided into administrative and technical deployments. You can find the instructions on the following pages:

2. Connect your customer organisation to the Data Exchange Layer

In order to fill in the application for a service licence for the Data Exchange Layer as an intermediary on behalf of your customer organisation, you must enable the intermediary feature in Service Management on the My organisation page.

You can then fill in the application for a service licence for the Data Exchange Layer on behalf of your customer organisation in the Service Management. The figure below describes the intermediary process of the Service Management.

You can find instructions for how to apply for and approve a licence in the following articles:

3. Apply for a licence for an individual service on behalf of your customer organisation

As an intermediary, after connecting your customer organisation to the Data Exchange Layer, you can apply for a service licence for an individual service for your customer organisation. For general instructions on how to apply for a licence for an individual service, see the following article:

For a description of the service-specific deployment process, see the API Catalogue Opens in a new window.on the page of the service to be deployed.

4. Deploy a single service on behalf of your customer organisation

For instructions on how to deploy an individual service, see the following article:

If you have connected a customer organisation to a shared subsystem, each customer organisation must be authenticated separately for the service to be deployed. For authentication, the customer organisation needs organisation-specific usernames from the provider of the service to be deployed. NB! The shared subsystem should not be used if the service utilised through the Data Exchange Layer does not import the shared subsystem.

For instructions on how to authenticate organisations using a shared subsystem, see the following articles:
