Duties of the FSC user

The FCS user produces and maintains FSC data according to the division of labour agreed in the organisation, supported by the FCS main user. The user can maintain all the organisation’s content in a comprehensive manner or focus on a specific topic, for example, based on industries or service areas. The number of FCS Users is not limited, so organisations may independently decide on the division of labour between users.

Familiarise yourself with FSC

Every new user should familiarise themselves with the Suomi.fi Finnish Service Catalogue and learn to use the FSC user interface at their own pace. Patience at the beginning will bear fruit later!

A good and definitely recommended first step in the world of FSC is the FSC driving licence in eOppiva (in Finnish, HAUS kehittämiskeskus Oy) Opens in a new window.that can be completed independently.

Once they have the FSC driving licence, the user should contact their organisation’s FCS Main user. Together, they can review how to use the FSC user interface in practice. This lowers the threshold for starting to use the user interface.

Monitor communications and participate in training

It would be smart for the FCS User to monitor the timely communications by the Suomi.fi Finnish Service Catalogue and the training they offer to remember how to use the FCS and ensure smooth administration. The FSC task is usually only one part of the users’ job description, but it is important to record it in their tasks to reserve enough time for the FCS.

Stay active in taking care of your FSC content

The most important task of the FCS User is to ensure that their “own” content already described in the FSC is kept up to date and that any new content is described well in the Suomi.fi Finnish Service Catalogue. This task is important because FSC data are utilised more and more in different digital services where clients seek information on services that are important to them.
