Implementation of the Suomi.fi Finnish Service Catalogue
The implementation of the Suomi.fi Finnish Service Catalogue (FSC) is the entire organisation’s responsibility. When your organisation adopts the FSC, it is important that all key parties – at least the management, information management and communications – understand what the FSC is about and have agreed to use the service.
1. Get to know the FSC
Start the implementation by learning about why the FSC exists, what kind of contents its data structure contains, and what are the benefits of using the service and FSC data. Go through the terms of use to which your organisation commits when adopting the Suomi.fi Finnish Service Catalogue.
2. Submit an application for a user permit and accept the terms of use
Apply for a user permit for FSC on the Suomi.fi Service Management website. Anyone in the organisation can submit the application for a user permit once you have agreed on it together.
How to submit an application for a FSC user permit
If you decide to import all or part of the data via the IN-interface, you should also apply for an IN-interface user permit.

3. Make the implementation a project
Establish an implementation project with a clear timetable, objectives and sufficient resources.
Ensure that the persons responsible for the implementation have sufficient authority to complete the implementation throughout the organisation, so that, for example, the appointment of responsible persons and the resourcing of work are not problematic in different sectors.
4. Name the FSC main users and users
Assign at least two people as the organisation’s FSC main users to coordinate content production. In addition, name a sufficient number of FSC users to produce and maintain content.

5. Train FSC main users and FSC users
The FSC main users must first complete the FSC driving licence as an online course.
The FSC main users must then ensure that each person producing content in the FSC completes the FSC driving licence and receives other training needed in content production.

6. Identify and describe your organisation’s services
Identify your organisation’s services and service channels and agree which responsible persons will describe them. You can start describing content in the FSC interface when
- the user permit application has been approved
- the FSC main users and FSC users have been given access rights, and
- all the users have received the necessary training.
7. Plan and resource maintenance
In your organisation, make sure that the persons participating in FSC content production have enough time at work to focus on the FSC. Ensure that knowledge is transferred when there are changes in the personnel.
