Data model of the Finnish Service Catalogue

Organisations that deploy the Suomi.fi Finnish Service Catalogue must first describe its own organisation in the Catalogue. They must then describe their other content types. It is not enough to just describe the organisation.

The most important content types of the Suomi.fi Finnish Service Catalogue are the service and service channels. The service channels include e-services, websites, service locations, printable forms and a telephone service. The services and service channels form an entity when they are linked with a connection.

  • Each service channel must be linked to at least one service.
  • Each service must be linked to by at least one service channel.

Other content types in the Suomi.fi Finnish Service Catalogue are the organisation, general description and service collection.

The data model of the Suomi.fi Finnish Service Catalogue is based on structured data. Structured data means it has been produced in accordance with common, pre-set structures. This allows the automatic transfer of data between different systems. In practice, this means that each piece of data is entered in its reserved field: for example, service times or data related to fees are entered in the specific fields.
