Administrative maintenance

The administrative maintenance of services connected to the Suomi.fi Data Exchange Layer includes the following measures:

  • Keep your contact information up to date
  • Provide your maintenance routines with adequate resource
  • Support your customers
  • Maintain your descriptions in the API Catalogue.

Keep your contact information up to date

Notify the administrators of the Data Exchange Layer whenever there is a change in your organisation’s information. It is particularly important to keep the contact information of your contact persons up to date so that they can be contacted whenever necessary.

If there is a change in the contact information of your administrative or technical contact person

  • Submit their new contact information to palveluvayla@palveluvayla.fi.

If you change your organisation’s name

  • Submit the new name to palveluvayla@palveluvayla.fi.

If you change your organisation’s business ID

If the administrator of your organisation changes, ensure that the access rights to the API Catalogue are transferred correctly. Check the members of your organization and their rights annually.

Ensure that the organisation has a customer account in the Digital and Population Data Services Agency’s (DVV) e-services

The administrative maintenance is responsible for ensuring that the organisation has a customer account in the Digital and Population Data Services Agency’s (DVV) e-services for the Data Exchange Layer certificate process.

In particular, ensure that:

  • the necessary users have been invited to the organisation’s customer account
  • the technical contact persons have the rights to create and supplement certificate applications
  • users who no longer have a relevant role are removed from the customer account
  • user information is kept up to date also in connection with staff changes

This ensures that the organisation’s certificate process runs smoothly and that applying for and renewing certificates is not delayed due to administrative reasons.

Also remember to keep the user account in the Service Management up to date

In the Suomi.fi Service ManagementOpens in a new window., your organisation carries out, among other things, the required usage permission applications for Suomi.fi services. Invite the necessary new users from your organisation to Service Management. See the instructions for inviting new users to your organisation.

Provide your maintenance routines with adequate resources

Determine the resources you need for your maintenance activities when you are planning your maintenance routines. Monitor your resourcing needs and adjust your policies whenever necessary. Make sure that sufficient resources are available to your maintenance services if, for example, you need to correct an unexpected error.

Support your customers

When offering services through the Data Exchange Layer, remember to provide the organisations that use your services with the assistance and advice they need. For example, your organisation is responsible for issuing user licenses to the organisations that want to use your services, and you also need to provide customer support in situations where they encounter any errors.

Maintain your descriptions in the API Catalogue

Make sure that you provide comprehensive and clear descriptions for your services and their use in the API CatalogueOpens in a new window.. This will help you attract new users to your services.

You will be provided with a user ID to the API Catalogue once you have joined the Data Exchange Layer’s production environment. Include the following details in your API Catalogue description:

  • your organisation’s information
  • the services provided by your organisation through the Data Exchange Layer.

Remember to maintain your information and add any new service descriptions to the API Catalogue. Remember to also update your organisation’s contact information in the API Catalogue whenever you change them. For more detailed instructions on creating and maintaining descriptions, see the following support articles:

Remember that you can practice creating descriptions in the API Catalogue’s test environmentOpens in a new window.. You will be provided with a user ID to the Test API Catalogue once you have joined the Data Exchange Layer’s test environment.
