Utilisation of FSC data
What does utilisation of the data of the Finnish Services Catalogue mean?
The FSC contains information about nearly 30,000 services and 70,000 service channels. Anyone can retrieve this information and use it in their digital services. The information can be retrieved through the FSC’s OUT-interface without separate identification or access licence.
How much is FSC data utilised?
In 2024, data were retrieved from the FSC’s OUT-interface 355 million times. FSC data are utilised in at least 210 different digital services. All the information described in the FSC is also presented in Suomi.fi Web Service, which is visited in average about 1.9 million times every month (in 2025).
The information in the FSC is utilised widely, for example, by municipalities, wellbeing services counties, government agencies and companies on their websites, chatbots and map services, among other things.
Take advantage of your own descriptions and those of others
When your organisation describes and maintains service information in the FSC, it is advisable to also start using the descriptions in your own organisation’s electronic services. This reduces overlap in the maintenance of information and ensures that your FSC data stays up to date also for others to use.
Changes made to FSC contents are available from the interface immediately after they have been published.

It is advisable to also use the FSC descriptions maintained by other organisations in your own service. For example, a municipality may display information on organisations operating in its area on its website, or a service built around a specific theme may retrieve all services and service channels related to this theme that different organisations have described.

Data may also be imported to the FSC from another system
If your organisation has a system of its own containing regularly maintained data that has been described in a customer-oriented manner and is compatible with the FSC data model, it is possible to import this data to the FSC through the IN-interface so that it can be used by others.
