Searching for services in the API Catalogue
This instruction describes how to search the API CatalogueOpens in a new window. for different services, i.e. interfaces. The API Catalogue presents the subsystems (APIs) of organisations that provide services in the Data Exchange Layer. An individual subsystem may contain multiple services.
Searching for subsystems
You can search for subsystems, with a search term from the API Catalogue or without a search term from the list available in the Subsytems tab. In both cases, you can filter the list by sorting, organisation, keyword, and file format.
Filtering a list
- by organisation displays only the subsystems of your selected organisation
- by keyword displays the subsystems that have been provided with the keyword in question (e.g. trade register)
- by file format displays only the subsystems that contain at least one attachment with the selected file format.
Searching for organisations that provide subsystems
You can also search for subsystems, or APIs, through the organisations that provide services
You can use different terms to filter the list in the Organisations tab:
- In the Filter by text field, type the name or abbreviation of the organisation you are searching for. Note that some organisations are listed in the API Catalogue by their abbreviation and some by their full name. So if you are having trouble finding what you are looking for, try using both options, e.g. “DPDSA” and “Digital and Population Data Services Agency”.
- If you cannot remember the name of the organisation you are looking for, you can also use the organisation's activities to narrow down the list. For example, the DPDSA can be found by using the term “population information system” to filter the list.
You can also sort the list of organisations
- by name in descending or ascending order
- by relevance.
Sorting by relevance will rank the organisations that provide subsystems through the Data Exchange Layer the highest, while those organisations that only utilise the subsystems provided by others are relegated to the bottom of the list.
