- Select the content contributors for the terminology
- Select the type of the terminology
- Select the terminology’s information domains
- Select an identifier for the terminology
- You can also add contact information
Add a new terminology
To add a new terminology, click Add new terminology.
Add the languages of the terminology
Start to fill in the information by selecting the languages for the terminology that you will add.
Make sure to add all the languages used in the terminology so that the tool provides fields for each terminology language. The tool will need information on the terminology languages also when importing concepts from files. If a language has not been defined as a language of the terminology, you cannot import concepts for that missing language into the terminology.
Select content contributors and type
Scroll down the window and select the contributors and the terminology type.
Select Terminological vocabulary as the terminology type if the terminology has been prepared by a terminologist or by following the principles of terminological work. Otherwise, select Other vocabulary. An example of the latter would be a terminology that describes the content of specific information systems or simply provides multilingual equivalents for a term without defining it in detail.
Add the domains and the identifier
Next, add the terminology’s information domains and the unique identifier (prefix). The preview function shows how the identifier will appear as a web address.
You can also add contact information
If you want to make it possible to contact your organisation regarding the terminology, enter the organisation’s e-mail address.
Note: For data protection reasons, do not provide an individual’s email address, provide the organisation's general contact address instead.
In the end, click Add terminology.
The terminology has now been created and you will be directed to the front page of the terminology you just created.
