Business rules for the organisation

This page is preliminary and will be supplemented during autumn 2026. The business rules apply to publishable content in the Finnish Service Catalogue (FSC).

Information on the organisation

Organisation level

• Mandatory

Organisation under which the sub-organisation was created

• Optional

Name

• Mandatory
• The maximum length is 100 characters
• The name and summary cannot be the same

Alternative name

• Optional
• The maximum length is 100 characters
• If the user adds an alternative name, they can choose whether to use this name in connection with the organisation’s services as the primary name of the organisation (for example, Kela, etc., a name that is more commonly used than the official name of the organisation)

External id

• Optional, see General business rules, External id

Business ID

• Mandatory
• The business ID must be in the correct format

OID identifier

• Optional
• The maximum length is 50 characters

Summary

• Mandatory
• The maximum length is 150 characters
• The name and summary cannot be the same

Description

• Mandatory
• The maximum length is 2500 characters

Organisation type

• Mandatory
• Select one of the following: state, municipality, regional joint organisation, organisations and communities, companies.
• This choice affects pre-selection in the “Region in which the organisation primarily provides services” information.

Region in which the organisation primarily provides services

• Mandatory

The type of organisation that was selected affects the provision of regional information as follows:

• State: add regional information according to the General business rules, Regional information
• Municipality: add one municipality.
• Regional joint organisation: describe a limited area according to General business rules, Regional information - limited area.
• Organisations and communities, Companies: add regional information in accordance with General business rules, Regional information.

Location of the organisation

• Mandatory
• Add one or more types of location information.

Contact information

• Optional
• You can add one or more types of contact information, such as email address, fax number, phone number, webpage address and postal address.

E-invoicing address information

• Optional
• You can add one or more e-invoicing addresses
• The e-invoicing address is mandatory
• The maximum length of the e-invoicing address is 100 characters
• The intermediary identifier is optional
• The maximum length of the intermediary identifier is 100 characters
• Additional information is optional
• The maximum length of the additional information is 100 characters
