Creating a new version from a file

A new version for the codelist can be imported from a file. The format of the file must be the same as when importing a new codelist (explained in more detail in a section of its own) To import a new version, begin by clicking "Create a new version from file" on the Choose action menu.

A view will then open in which you select the file format (Excel / CSV) and retrieve the file to the tool. In the end, click “Import”.

If you export the codelist, for example, to Excel and make changes there and want to import it back as a new version, you must change the following fields in the CodeSchemes tab in Excel:

• CODEVALUE: This cannot be the same as in the prior version, so the value in this field must be changed. E.g. "nuorisokoodisto" → "nuorisokoodisto2"
• URI: Because the URI, i.e. the permanent identifier, includes the previous field CODEVALUE, the CODEVALUE at the end of the URI must he replaced with a new one: E.g. "http://uri.suomi.fi/codelist/test/nuorisokoodisto" → "http://uri.suomi.fi/codelist/test/nuorisokoodisto2"
• STATUS: The status of the new version cannot immediately be VALID, so the value of the field must be changed to DRAFT.
