Manual creation of a new version

When the status of the codelist has been set to valid, a new version of the codelist can be created. Start this by selecting one of the following from the Choose action menu:

• Create a new version: the new version is created on the basis of the current version
• Create a new version from a file: the new version is imported to the software as an import from Excel, for example.

The following options are available when you create a new version:

• Create a new version based on current data / Create a new version blank without current data: This option defines whether the current codes will be transferred to the new version or whether the new version will be created without codes.
• Create a new codelist in cumulative form: The new version can be made cumulative, in which case the entire codelist will be cumulative from then on (for details, see the relevant section).
• Identifier: The new version must be given a new identifier.

The name of the new codelist can also be changed in this context, if necessary. After the new version has been saved, its data and content can be edited. By default, the status of the new version will be “Draft” and the old version remains “Valid”.

When the content of a new (draft) version has been edited and the changes have been completed, the editor changes its status to "Valid". The status of the old version will then automatically change to "Superseded".
