Functionalities

Your organisation can send messages electronically using Suomi.fi Messages. In addition, Suomi.fi Messages also supports the use of the printing, enveloping and distribution service (TKJ service), which allows you to approach your customers also by paper mail. In this case, you can select between three different options:

• only electronic deliveries
• primarily electronic deliveries, with paper mail deliveries as a backup option
• only paper mail deliveries

Please note that even though Suomi.fi Messages permits sending messages by paper mail, the service is primarily intended for electronic communications. In other words, you cannot rely solely on the TKJ service. Your organisation must ensure that some of your messages will also be delivered electronically through Suomi.fi Messages.

Your organisation can use the state information provided by Suomi.fi Messages to monitor the state of the messages you have sent. You can monitor the state of both electronic messages and messages delivered by paper mail, but their respective states will differ depending on the method of delivery.

In addition to sending messages, your organisation can use Suomi.fi Messages to receive messages as well. Your end users can reply to the messages they have received or send you new messages about something they wish to discuss.

Your organisation can use Suomi.fi Messages to check the state of the recipient’s electronic mailbox. In practice, this functionality allows your organisation to check whether your message will be delivered to a recipient electronically (electronic mailbox has been activated) or by paper mail (electronic mailbox has not been activated).
