Checking the status of the end user's mailbox

Suomi.fi Messages offers your organisation the possibility to check the status of an end user’s electronic mailbox. This allows you to ensure

• how the message should be sent to the recipient, or
• in the case of multi-channel delivery, to obtain information on how the message will be delivered to the end user.

This functionality may only be used in situations where information about the recipient’s mailbox status is necessary for sending the message, and it is not intended for the permanent storage of information.

The electronic mailbox to be checked is identified by a personal identity code or Business ID. You can check up to 10 000 personal identity codes or Business IDs at a time.

In response, Suomi.fi Messages returns the entered ID if the mailbox associated with it is active. If the electronic mailbox is active, the end user receives their messages electronically. If the mailbox is not active, the ID will not be returned.
