Notification of a new regular message
Your organisation can customise the subject line of the email notification sent for a new regular message and add custom content. If you customise the email notification, you must modify both the subject line and the content.
If you do not customise the notification, the default notification content provided by Suomi.fi Messages will be used automatically.

New message in Suomi.fi Messages
You have received a message in Suomi.fi Messages. Message sender: {Organisation}, {service}
You can read your message with the Suomi.fi mobile application or in the Messages section of the Suomi.fi Web Service.
For data security reasons, the emails that you receive from Suomi.fi Messages never contain links. For this reason, we do not direct you to read the message via a direct link.
Suomi.fi Messages is a shared messaging service for public administration. The service is developed by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.

Subject line of the notification
By default, the email notification subject line is "New message in Suomi.fi Messages".
For customised notifications, the prefix "Suomi.fi Messages:" is added automatically at the beginning of the subject line, followed by the text provided by your organisation. Consider carefully what kind of subject line would provide added value to the end user.
The subject line should be concise, as on mobile devices fewer than 40 characters are typically visible. The most important information should be placed at the beginning of the subject line, for example: "Invoice from the wellbeing services county".
Notification content
Your organisation can add up to 1,000 characters of custom content to the email notification. This content is inserted below the sender information. All other content in the email notification is predefined and cannot be edited or removed.
If your organisation adds custom content to an email notification, it must not contain sensitive information, such as personal data, or any links. For example, the recipient of the message must not be identified in the notification.
Adding custom content to email notifications may be useful in situations where follow-up actions are expected from the end user or where the matter is subject to a deadline.

Customisation also affects notifications sent to persons acting on behalf of another party
Email notifications related to a message are sent not only to the recipient but also to any person acting on behalf of another party. The notifications sent to persons acting on behalf of another party are largely the same as those sent to recipients, but they indicate that the message has been delivered to a company or another person.

New message for a person on behalf of whom you use Suomi.fi Messages
A person on behalf of whom you use Suomi.fi Messages has received a message. Message sender: {Organisation}, {service}
You can read the message in the Messages section of the Suomi.fi Web Service. Identify yourself and proceed to act on behalf of the person who received the message.
For data security reasons, we cannot direct you to the message via a direct link or disclose the name of the person who received the message. The emails that you receive from Suomi.fi Messages never contain links.

If your organisation customises the notification subject line, the same subject line will be displayed both to the message recipient and to any person acting on behalf of another party. For this reason, the subject line should not refer directly to the recipient.
For example, the subject line "Suomi.fi Messages: You have received an invoice" may cause confusion for a person acting on behalf of another party, as they may interpret the invoice as having been sent to them personally.
The same principle also applies to any content added to the notification: all text added by your organisation to the email notification is displayed both to the recipient and to persons acting on behalf of another party.
For this reason, it is advisable to avoid addressing the recipient directly or using other wording that assumes the reader of the notification is the actual recipient of the message.

Notification of a new verifiable service
A new verifiable service also triggers an email notification. The content of this notification differs slightly from the notification sent for a regular message and places greater emphasis on the importance of the message to the end user.
