Content of a message delivered by paper mail

A message distributed to the end user as paper mail consists of the message content and the envelope used for the delivery.

Message content

The content that will be sent to the end user as paper mail should be submitted to Suomi.fi Messages in a single PDF file, the layout of which must be compatible with Posti’s iPost service. For descriptions of generating the content of the PDF file appropriately, see Design instructions for sending letters (Posti)Opens in a new window..

The maximum size of a PDF file to be sent is 10 MB.

According to iPost service requirements, the first content page must contain at least the recipient's address information. For more information on appropriately generating the first page and address information, see Generating an address page.

Message envelope

Your organisation can only send A4 printouts using the printing, enveloping and distribution service. Printouts are mailed as follows:

  • 1-9 sheets in a C5 envelope
  • 10-60 sheets in a C4 envelope
  • long letters with more than 60 sheets are sent either in a gusset envelope or a box, depending on the number of sheets.

If a C4 envelope is used, a separate material and mailing fee will be charged. If a gusset envelope or box is used, the fee set out in the general price list of Posti Messaging Oy will be charged. No other special envelopes can be used through the printing, enveloping and distribution service.
